भारत का नया Rafale Deal: Fast Delivery और Make in India का संगम
Indian Air Force (IAF) ने 114 Rafale fighter jets खरीदने का प्लान fast track कर दिया है। इस mega defence deal की estimated cost ₹2 lakh crore (around $23.8 billion) है।
First 18 Jets Off-the-Shelf
सबसे खास बात यह है कि पहले 18 Rafale aircraft direct France से off-the-shelf delivery में आएंगे। मतलब ready-to-fly jets बहुत कम समय में IAF को मिल जाएंगे, जिससे front line squadrons की strength तुरंत बढ़ेगी।
Procurement Strategy
India ने government-to-government deal choose किया है। इस direct approach से tender process और extra delay avoid होगा। Dassault Aviation के France production line से ये first batch ready होकर आएगा।

- Indian hardware upgrades और कुछ Made in India components का integration
- Pilot और ground crew को simultaneous training
Operational Need
IAF की squadron strength अभी सिर्फ 29 है जबकि need 42+ की है। MiG-21 retire होने के बाद capability gap बढ़ गया है। हाल के operations, जैसे Operation Sindoor, में Rafale ने अपनी power दिखा दी थी—Spectra EW suite ने Chinese PL-15 missile को defeat किया और SCALP missile से precision strike किया।
Made in India Plan
Dassault और Tata मिलकर India में final assembly line setup करेंगे। Future batches में करीब 60% indigenisation होगा। Hyderabad में MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul) facility भी बनेगी।
Future Roadmap
- Contract signing अगले fiscal year में
- Off-the-shelf delivery जल्दी start होगी
- Local assembly 2029–30 तक ramp up
- Long term में Indian Rafale fleet 176 aircraft तक पहुंचेगा
Strategic Impact
ये deal India-France defence ties को और strong बनाएगी। Sovereign guarantee structure से delivery timeline secure है और price benchmark previous deal से aligned रहेगा।
